TKAMB Ch.10-12

Filed Under (Chapters 10-12) by Becca on 13-05-2009

These chapters were very interesting

The newest charactre, Mrs. Dubose is the Rudest oldd lady I’ve ever heard of. How could she say that about Atticus in front of Scout and Jem? She must be crazy for gossiping about nonsense and stuff she doesn’t really know about. I agree with Jem, when he attacked Mrs. Dubose flowers but I dont agree with what he did with Scouts baton. It was sad that she died out of nowhere but it was intresing how she kept Jem and Scout later and later everyday. At first when she had those fits, I thought she was having a heartattack but when I found out the she was a morphne addict, I thought that she was brave enought to stop using it, even in her last months of life.

The book is turing out to be very interesting, a lot of people have told me that its good, insluding my Graphics and ITE teachers. I cant wait to find out what happens when Atticus helps Tom Robinson wiht his trial!!

I agree that Mrs. Dubose’s attitude towards others should be more accepting and less criticizing. Many know and might have experienced that a friendlier person is easier to be associated with. When people act friendlier, they tend to have more friends and I think having more friends makes a person feel happier. I think that Mrs. Dubose might have a better chance of overcoming her addiction if there were many more others to support her and give her courage to do so. I guess Mrs. Dubose’s addiction plays a role in the way she acts; it is kind of like a person getting angry at the whole world when he or she is in a bad mood. I guess everyone knows how to make another feel like they are on top of this world as well as make them feel like dirt.

********Oh and it might be useful to write your post in Microsoft word where you can spell check, but it is always wise to go back and reread what you have wrote.

This chapter is interesting. I agree with you that Mrs. Dubose was rude. I’ve never seen a rude old woman like her before too. She wouldn’t be a role model for Scout and Jem that’s for sure. Plus, Jem did, somehow, go over the edge. He shouldn’t really ruin Mrs. Dubose’s flowers although she deserves it a bit. I would do something different though that doesn’t have to get in too much trouble though. It’s a bit strange how she suddenly die. To my opinion, it sort of made the book short. I guess her morphine addict made her like that. I totally agree with you she was brave for stopping in the last couple months of her death. Overall, I guess we can say Mrs. Dubose has good and bad qualities. Also, I can’t wait for Tom Robinson’s trial too. It’s getting more mysterious and drifting. Hopefully, a good outcome will happen.
